Chicken burgers can be messy. Not these! Made with minced chicken (minced meat), Parmesan, garlic, and a bit of dried sage, you’ll love how juicy the chicken burger patties are and how golden and crispy they are around the edges.

Chicken burgers are notorious for being soft and dry, perhaps because they look healthier on menus than beef burgers.

Tasteless burrito, nasty, overcooked, dry, stuffed into a burger with the same bland burger toppings.

Not in my world! ! !

This ground chicken is stuffed with Parmesan, garlic, and sage powder (secret recipe!
). They’re warm on the outside and juicy on the inside, and no one will accuse them of being bland! ! !

What you need for juicy Chicken Burger Patties

Here are the ingredients you’ll need to make these great shredded chicken burgers.

  • just a few notes on some of the items:
  • floor chook (mince) – the flavourings in the fowl patties work equally well with turkey or beef.
  • Parmesan adds top notch flavour into the patties. It doesn’t make it taste tacky, it provides umami(that is the meals-tech term for savoury-ness).
  • Sage is the herb flavouring in these fowl patties. It adds an earthy flavour that surely gives these chook burgers the edge! in case you don’t have or can’t discover floor sage, thyme is a awesome opportunity, OR using celery salt in region of regular salt

How to make chicken burgers with ground chicken

  • not anything ground breaking right here, but still useful to have a visible I think!

  • 500g/ 1.2 lb ground chicken (mince) (Note 1)

  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs

  • 1 egg

  • 3/4 cup parmesan , finely grated (Note 2)

  • 1 cup green onion , finely sliced (~2 stems)

  • 2 garlic cloves , minced

  • 1/2 tsp dried sage (Note 3)

  • 1/2 tsp salt and pepper , each


  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 4 soft burger buns or brioche buns

  • 1 avocado (big!) (or 2 medium)

  • 60g / 2 oz rocket / arugula or other lettuce of choice

  • 2 tomatoes , sliced

  • 4 slices Swiss cheese (or other cheese)

  • Mayonnaise, relish, ketchup or tomato sauce (to smear lid)


  • French fries

  • Baked potato wedges




location Pattie elements in bowl, mix properly with hands.
form 4 patties, 1.5cm / 3/five″ thick, slightly large than the buns (shrinks barely). If mixture is super sticky (note 4), either refrigerate aggregate for half-hour, or moist palms or gently spray arms with oil (I try this).
warmth oil in skillet over medium high heat. upload patties, working in batches. prepare dinner for two mins or until deep golden, then flip.
After 1 minute, top with a piece of cheese and area lid on to soften cheese.
once cheese is melted, eliminate patties from skillet.


break up buns and gently toast in oven or underneath broiler/grill.
cut avocado in 1/2, scoop out a generous amount then “destroy” it on the bottom of the bun with a fork. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
top with fowl Pattie, then rocket/arugula and tomato.
Smear the top bun with mayonnaise (or delight in, ketchup, different condiment of choice) and region lid on bun.

Meat – recipe works equally well with ground/mince turkey or pork. Parmesan – grate your personal, or use the store bought sandy kind. Sage – offers chicken patties a top notch savoury flavour which i really like. Sub with ½ tsp dried thyme, or use celery salt as opposed to simple salt. can be skipped. Sticky combination! floor chook / mince can be an awful lot greater wet and tougher to deal with than different ground meat. Don’t be tempted to add extra breadcrumbs, it will make the combination less meat-like once cooked. either refrigerate the mixture to firm up, or wet or oil hands to shape patties. additionally, the beef bought from butchers is less moist than the ones offered at supermarkets in plastic packing containers (they sweat and emerge as greater watery). five. nutrition in line with serving, assuming a massive hamburger bun is used (that is genuinely pretty sweet, and large than regular rolls so energy might be much less if you use regular gentle bread rolls).
