This is a very easy classic homemade cranberry sauce recipe. It’s sweet (but not too sweet) and slightly sour than lemon, which I think makes all the difference. It takes 3 minutes prep time and 20 minutes oven time – very low maintenance!

HOMEMADE CRANBERRY SAUCE IS AMAZING
I tried the cranberry sauce I bought at the grocery store years ago and it immediately made me love it. It tastes… like jam. I can coat the turkey with strawberry jam!
I hadn’t decided to try cranberry sauce until I started preparing a roast turkey for the weekend…
You know what? Homemade cranberry sauce is amazing! This place is not like a mall. Tastes like cranberry (shock horror)!
WHAT IS CRANBERRY SAUCE USED FOR?
The obvious answer ↑↑↑ : Türkiye! But there are many other options. It’s sweet and sour, so it’s perfect as a hot sauce for things like scones, French toast, or pancakes. Or make a vanilla sponge cake topped with jam and whipped cream.
Since it is slightly sour, it goes well with salty foods.
For Christmas, I work with glazed roast ham, turkey stacked sandwiches (whole turkey roast, slow cooker, or roast turkey breast) or cold cut sandwiches (ham, turkey, shank chicken slices).
Try it on a toasted sandwich with
Brie – what a combination! Use it to make cranberry bars (replace the raspberry jam in this raspberry jam bars recipe) or mix it in as a substitute for blueberries in muffins or muffins, such as liquid muffins.
in short – your only limit is your imagination!
HOW TO MAKE THIS SIMPLE CRANBERRY SAUCE
A good cranberry sauce requires just cranberries (sold frozen, along with other frozen fruits), sugar, water, and I like to add a little lemon zest, which I think gives a bit of an edge. It elevates the taste and gives a sense of freshness that will have your family and friends asking what the secret is!
Sometimes I use orange zest – when I use both. Everything is great, but lemon is my indispensable recipe!
I like to be able to control the sweetness of the sauce according to my taste.
